Pokemon Crystal Legacy has been released for the Gameboy Advance. Remade version of Pokemon Crystal, now available on GBA/GBA SP. Pokemon Crystal Legacy, a unique version of Pokemon Crystal is available for those who didn't enjoy Gen 2 Pokemon but felt there was something missing.
*Pokemon Crystal Legacy, a Gameboy Color rework, will run on GBCs and GBASPs. The game saves using a battery.
Gameplay Differentials:
Gameboy Color Pokemon Crystal Legacy, an enhancement hack, aims at improving Generation 2's underdeveloped areas while maintaining the mechanics that made this game so unique and entertaining.
Crystal Legacy doesn't follow modern Pokemon design principles, but rather only changes are made based on the original design of the game. This guarantees a true generation 2 experience and brings this Pokemon Crystal Version into its full potential.
Pokemon Crystal Legacy Features Include
Features Dynamic Level Scaling of Gym Leaders for a 'nonlinear' part Johto. Chuck, Pryce or Jasmine will scale based on whether you have earned 5, 6, or seven badges.
- Team optimization for Gym Leaders. Leaders are represented by more Generation 2 Pokemon, while still keeping their original Aces (for example, Bugsy's Scyther is retained, but Metapod and Kakuna have been replaced with Pineco or Ledian). Movepools have become more complex and diverse. Gym Leaders can use hold items.
- Improved curve for leveling up. The level curve for Pokemon Crystal Legacy trainers and gym leaders has been improved. They no longer decline in late-mid-game only to spike at Elite Fuur. Now, the game's leveling process is more linear. Trainer teams have been expanded to offer more EXP. It is normal for players to be below champion status if they don't grind. This is by design and common in most Pokemon games.
Pokemon are now more available. Johto has been added Kanto-locked Generation 2 monsters such as Houndour. Route encounters were diversified. The trade monsters of Gen 1 will evolve with each level. Gen 2 trade item now work just like evolution stone. Evo items are now more accessible. Ruins Of Alph added Fossils & GS Ball.
All legendary creatures are now catchable.
Gameplay Balancing. Dark is now Special, while Ghost is Physical. Pokemon movepools are now much more powerful. The balance of actual moves has been improved (notably, the bug and fighting type has seen a large improvement). Some statistical buffs were given to single evo monsters with low stats, as well as other underperformers.
Item Improvements
Now you can buy Berries at the Flower Shop. Cianwood pharmacy now sells Stones & Ethers. Mahogany mart now sells Upgrades and Metal Coat. Mahogany and Blackthorn now sell TMs. X Items can't be purchased.
- Storyline enhancements. (Yay!)
- Slight alterations to Silver's character development. Lance is assisted by a stranger in locating the Rocket Hideout. Team Rocket executives Archer Ariana have been named. Rocket has added a new character arc to 'Hyuck Hyuck.' The Legendaries of Kanto have been explained.
Quality of Life: Unique Pokemon Sprites, Running Shoes, Larger Bag, Early Experimentation Share, Delete HMS whenever possible, TM pickup says the move name. Bugs fixed. PC added to Elm’s Lab and House, after Tohjo falls. Gameplay Icon now shows Weather.
Rematch Johto Gym Leadership after becoming Johto Champions.
- Kanto has now its own separate league. Pokemon Gym leaders have set up competitively teams of six. You must then rematch them for the title of Kanto Champion after you beat them. Take this section as a challenge post-game.
